About Our Experience
While we were in London, we stayed at a few different hotels during our stay. Each one was spectacular in its own right, and the variety made the trip even better. What we did not know was that we would be able to have the same nanny from Hopes and Dreams throughout our stay, even as we moved from hotel to hotel. While not guaranteed from the get-go, Hopes and Dreams did all they could to made it happen, and we were so appreciative. This way, once Axel bonded with her, he would feel comfortable throughout the trip. And bond they did…
As soon as we met our assigned nanny at our first hotel, The Four Seasons Trinity Square, Axel was smitten. They had a cute chemistry and we could tell right off the bat that Axel would be in good hands. She came with a big bag of assorted toys and books, so there would be plenty to do to keep Axel entertained in our absence. He was laughing and loving every moment, crawling around on the floor with her and having tons of fun. Whew! Now we knew we could have our “adult time” exploring the city without worrying Axel would be upset.
While we were out and about, the nanny kept us in the loop as to how things were going back at the hotel. She sent us texts and photos regularly to update us. She bathed him, fed him, and made sure bedtime was kept to his usual schedule. To our amazement, whenever the nanny put him to bed, he’d sleep soundly through the night...something we were struggling ourselves. Why we don’t seem to have such luck, we can’t be sure, but as long as our little one had sweet dreams while in London, we were happy.
As for our recommendation to other parents seeking a sitter or nanny while abroad? If you are planning a trip to London and need someone to care for your cutie, give Hopes and Dreams a call. They were wonderful to work with and our nanny was wonderful! Now, if only we could convince her to come live in Amsterdam, we would all be ecstatic!
