Tivoli Gardens: Copenhagen's Historic Amusement Park

For a family activity, or if you just want to indulge the kid in you, Tivoli Gardens is a beautiful park filled with vintage roller coasters & fresh popcorn!

Lets face it, sometimes you just want to run around, shove your face in popcorn and overly sweet candy, as you get a stomach ache on the loopy rollercoaster. Yes, I wanted to act like a child, go on all the rides and just have fun. So we set off for the Tivoli Gardens, the second oldest amusement park in the world.

Tivoli is a pretty famous park, and according to Wikipedia is the most visited amusement park in Scandinavia, so be prepared for crowds, queues and inflated prices. There are a variety of packages you can purchase from general admission to yearly passes, starting at 300 DKK (or about 35 Euro). You have to pay for each ride you go on, so make sure to by the multi ride pass, which allows you to ride any ride, as many times as you want.

If you’re traveling with small children a visit here would be absolutely perfect, as there is just so much to keep them entertained. In addition to several roller coasters, there are tons of arcade games and play areas for all ages. The area is pretty small, so you can definitely see it all in a few hours, or draw out the day by walking through the gardens or stopping at one of their many restaurants on site.

And Adults... Don’t worry, beer and cocktails are readily available throughout the park.
