Italy

Luxury hotel reviews, travel guides, and stories.

Italy has a way of feeling like several distinct worlds woven into one beautiful tapestry. For us, it was the contrast that stayed with us most—the high-energy glamour of Rome where we found gems like Umiltà36 and Crossing Condotti, versus the slower, sun-drenched pace of the coast. Whether we were seeking out a Michelin-starred escape at Don Alfonso 1890 in Sorrento or finding a moment of peace at Casa Privata overlooking the Amalfi Coast, every corner offered something intimate and uniquely Italian.

Beyond the coastline, we fell for the distinct character of Italy's historic centers. We loved exploring the refined elegance of Florence at Continentale and Helvetia & Bristol, while the Venetian canals offered a different kind of magic at Ca’ Sagredo Hotel and The St. Regis Venice. From the sophisticated style of Four Seasons Milano to the rugged, natural beauty found at Hotel Valle dell’Erica in Sardinia, our travels revealed an Italy that is as diverse as it is timeless.
