If you’re familiar with our travels, you’ll probably know that Chris and I have been taking semi-professional photographs for the last 5 years. We love doing it, but often times taking photographs of scenery and others means it’s nearly impossible to capture moments of us two together. Especially when we’re on vacation - forget about it! Unless it’s a silly selfie or a goofy picture of me eating noodles, we never think to take pictures together. Until, of course, it’s too late and we’re already home.
So, this year while planning a family Summer trip to Sitges, Spain, we decided it was time to scope out our options and hire a professional photographer to capture our families in a fun and natural setting.
We had heard about Flytographer from a few friends and social media, but never thought to use them because well… we always figured we could just take the photos ourselves. So when Flytographer reached out to us and wanted to work with us on a fun way to showcase their company, we were stoked! Finally we could get some great photos.

All we had to do was visit the site, Flytographer.com, choose the country and city in which we were visiting, and scope out their list of photographers and their availability for our trip. In fact, they also specialize in engagement photoshoots, event photography, and even provide insider insight on the best things to see, do and eat in the city you’re exploring. Rather than just take great photos, they offer a more hand-picked personal experience.
Once you review the list of photographers (all backed by stellar ratings and reviews), you can select the one whose portfolio stands out to you most. Then, you are connected with him or her directly to schedule the shoot. They offer various packages, ranging from 30 minute sessions in a hand-selected location to 2-hour shoots in various spots.
Our Experience WITH FLYTOGRAPHER
A few months prior to our trip, I searched the site for a photographer with a style that we liked. I knew immediately when I saw the portfolio of Venezuelan couple Ramon and Sonia, I was sold! Scheduling the shoot with Flytographer was so easy, and our photographers were happy to suggest their favorite spots to shoot that would yield the best photos.
Once the shoot was booked, the concierge at Flytographer got all of the details from me about what I wanted out of our session. This really made our vision come to life and made sure the day of was as stress-free as possible. (This was also a great way to talk about what we wanted and to get advice as first-timers!)
Although I was a bit nervous at the thought of corralling 6 adults and a toddler for the shoot, Ramon and Sonia did not disappoint. I don’t know how they did it, in between all the other tourists, and a few meltdowns by our son, but miraculously we managed to get some amazing family photos. We opted for the hour-long shoot, which was the perfect amount of time to capture some memories, which of course featured beautiful backdrops of the city we were visiting. After five days, we received a digital link to all of the images captured. This made for such a special gift! Seriously, we should have done this so long ago.

While we were approached by Flytographer, I am genuine when I say I would hire them again in the future- we’d never promote a company or experience we didn’t genuinely like. Plus, they operate in many major cities, the photographers are hand-selected and the process is so simple. Not to mention, we finally have family photos we can frame- with everyone in them!
I was blown away by the quality and beauty of the pictures we received from our family trip in Spain. Imagine all of the pictures and snapshots we’ve missed out on from our trips around the world by not utilizing a service like this. Needless to say, we learned our lesson and will be booking Flytographer for our next family vacation- and for our solo trips!
