China

Luxury hotel reviews, travel guides, and stories.

China is a land of incredible contrasts, where ancient traditions meet some of the world's most ambitious modern skylines. We were constantly struck by how these cities manage to feel both expansive and intimate at the same time. In Hong Kong, we found our sanctuary in the "edgier" yet serene atmosphere of The Landmark, Mandarin Oriental, while Four Seasons Hong Kong offered us a sophisticated escape with stunning views over Victoria Harbor.

Moving inland, Beijing provided a different, equally captivating energy. We loved the artistic flair and vibrant vibe of The Opposite House, and for those seeking classic elegance, Four seasoned experience at Four Seasons Beijing—which even gave us a nearly private moment on the Great Wall. Whether we were enjoying the sleek, modern comfort of The EAST Hotel or taking in the sweeping cityscapes from the Shangri-La China World Summit Wing Hotel, China consistently surprised us with its ability to blend high-end luxury with authentic local character.
