Portugal

Luxury hotel reviews, travel guides, and stories.

Portugal has this incredible way of blending grand history with a vibrant, modern pulse. In Lisbon, we were swept away by the old-world glamour of the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz and the regal atmosphere of Pestana Palace—both feel like stepping into a much more elegant era. The culinary scene is just as captivating; whether it was indulging in a 15-course tasting menu at Belcanto or finding creative flavors at Mini Bar and Lisboeta, there's so much to savor. Even finding a beautifully designed sanctuary like The Memmo Alfama makes the city’s rich tapestry feel even more special.

Beyond the capital, the landscape shifts into something almost cinematic. We fell in love with the fairytale atmosphere of Sintra, where tree-covered mountains and colorful palaces feel plucked from a storybook. For those craving coastal bliss, Vila Joya on the Algarve coast offers stunning views and refined dining, while The Oitavos Hotel provides a laid-back luxury experience in Cascais. If you prefer to slow down even further, the sustainable retreat of Companhia das Culturas in the countryside offers a peaceful, organic escape that feels worlds away from the hustle.
